Surviving the Sands: Zendaya's Heat Challenge on the Set of Dune 2

The filming environment for Dune: Part Two in the scorching deserts of Jordan proved to be exceptionally challenging for Zendaya. The actress revealed that her concern over lengthy bathroom breaks in costume created an unforeseen health issue related to exposure to heat. The distinctive Fremen costumes, crafted for endurance in the mythical landscape of Arrakis, introduced their own set of authentic difficulties, primarily due to the extensive outfit changes that made staying hydrated inconvenient.

In a discussion with W Magazine, Zendaya expressed that she opted to limit her water intake to avoid the trouble of removing her costume, only to discover later the serious risks associated with dehydration under the unyielding desert sun. Nevertheless, she reflected positively on her overall fitness, which she developed while working on Challengers, as it enabled her to persevere through the physically strenuous filming process. With her role as Chani firmly established in both Dune movies, Zendaya has shared her excitement about the possibility of a future project inspired by Dune Messiah.

Can you endure the extreme conditions of Arrakis, or would you ultimately succumb to the necessity of hydration?
